The best part about social media is the ability to meet and connect with people and brands. Throughout the years, I have discovered and established relationships with great companies. Every once in awhile, a brand that stands out from the rest comes around. Wildkai offers the world's lightest dog leash and it's a game changer.
Wildkai is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Cue the happy dance. We are too! One of the best aspects of living in Utah is the abundance of outdoor adventures to be had. We live in a state with striking mountains and breathtaking parks. One of my favorite things to do is take Rocket hiking. When the weather is good, we hit the trails at least once a week. He is my true hiking buddy.
Since hiking with Rocket is such a big part of my life, finding a great leash that's durable yet lightweight, comfortable around my wrist and nicely designed is important to me. Many pet stores that I have been to offer generic looking leashes lacking in quality, comfort, and character. Nearly all are too big and bulky for Rocket. Wildkai solves this problem. When I saw the leashes for the first time, the words “FINALLY” came out of my mouth.
What makes them so awesome?
Their leashes are constructed using a braided rope called Dyneema® which is extremely strong and lightweight. Size for size, it is the same strength as steel. Below I posted a video which shows them actually pulling a car with the leash! Rest assured, these can securely hold any large dog. They have a rope break strength of over 1000 pounds.
They are extremely lightweight and stylish
These leashes are very lightweight and easy to carry around. They also score a 10 on the style factor! They offer two different products, the Kloudline Minimus leash, weighing 29 grams and the Kloudline Ultralight leash, weighing just 18 grams. To give you a comparison, the average generic leash weighs 164 grams. The Ultralight leash can literally fit in my wallet. The Minimus leash features a very soft, eye-catching handle and is finished with a lightweight carabiner. It comes in 4 foot or 6 foot lengths.
After taking these leashes on the trail, I became hooked. So much that I have already donated my old leashes. I'm hoping in the near future, Wildkai will grow to include collars and harnesses. Please, please, please!

Hello! I would love to win because my girl that I adopted in December and I are always going on adventures! She had to have hip surgery before coming home though, and both of the other leashes I’ve tried are too bulky and she gets tangled. This would be perfect for her! And so much easier to carry around when we’re somewhere where she doesn’t need a leash. 🙂

Wow, this looks like a super pawesome product! My Momager would love this for when we go running because of how lightweight it is and because I LOVE to pull when we see other fur friends the strength would be helpful!
